BUSINESS OWNERS

“The city is growing a lot, and we are doing our little bit to help make that happen.”

We have been patients at Siloam Health for 24 years. Health care is so important because if you don’t have health, you can’t work.

We started at minimum wage when we moved to the United States from Costa Rica in 2001. We thought it would be easy to make money here, but it has been hard. Nadya worked cleaning schools, then at a motel. Then after that, maybe a year or so in, she got the first house to clean.

Eventually, she had nine houses. I was doing different things, but mostly worked as a welder, and in 2008, the shop where I worked closed. So, I started working together with her. Our customers helped us find other customers, and in two weeks, we doubled our customer base from nine to sixteen!

We kept growing from there. Right now, we have about 15 people working for us, nine of whom are full-time. We have about 85 clients on a regular basis, plus new construction companies and real estate companies who rely on us.

I don’t want to just keep it to my company; I want to help other people grow their own businesses too. We try to find people like us who are a family who can start a business because it’s a good thing to serve in this field.

We are helping Nashville grow because people can do their jobs while we clean. We fill the needs of the doctors, or lawyers, or whatever - we make their lives better. On the other side, we help by hiring the people who need work to provide for their families. We also clean new construction so that houses are ready for people to buy. The city is growing a lot, and we are doing our little bit to help make that happen.
